A Bit of Summer all Year Round!

My daughter came to visit and we were determined to put together my flip flop bathroom. For two years I have been collecting really cute things for this bathroom and just waiting for Rita to move out and go to college. Well the day finally came and Nellie did such a great job! I was just going to paint the bathroom light purple but you can see that she has a much bigger imagination! That's my Nellie, Fearless!
We were mostly surprised that everything matched!
Who knew you could throw
so many colors in a room and it would work?

The stripes were pretty tricky cause the tape kept bleeding

So instead of the traditional straight lines we went with the beach hut freehand kind of lines I ended up liking it more in the end!

A flip flop shower curtain!
I love the the pink polka dot shower liner, and
the flip flop mat is one of those things I've been hanging on to forever!

My bathroom is all ready for guests... any takers? :-)

It is finally Spring in Bonners Ferry and we are loving it. We have been fishing 3 times and found a new lake to fish. It's my new favorite lake. It is just across the border in Canada, but it's best feature is the fact that you can only fish with one pole apiece. Yah!!!!! It is so much harder to get your lines mixed up with only 2 lines out. It is also a beautiful lake. It's very pretty not with the snow still on the mountains. So pretty! Besides we actually caught some fish there. One Bull Trout and 2 Rainbow. A fun day for sure. We have also bought a small lot in Washington near Bellingham on the bay. You can see the bay from our front yard. It is just a place to put our 5th wheel when it is too snowy here (after Rita graduates of course) or just go over for a break and fish (of course). This will always be home, but it seemed like a good investment. (Closer to a big hospital if we ever need one someday.) School is about to end which is always welcome. Nellie is in the hospital trying to stay pregnant. She just doesn't like to stay pregnant long enough, so she is getting some help to stick it out long enough this time. We pray alot these days. I'm going down to CA on the 14 to give her a hug and help Luke and Stephanie move to their new home. They are trading their bigger 2 story for a smaller 1 story so Aynslee will be safe. yah! Children are so hard to come by these days. We are going over to start water and power at our place in Washington this next week. At least I am so busy I can"t get into much trouble. Thats the up date for now.

Well, since our last post, Rita had her 16th birth-day. It was the family party, which is small these days because there are only 3 of us. It was fun just the same. She wishes she would have gotten a car like her friend, but alas she has an old school family so it was clothes, jewery, books, itune card, cute picture frame, and P.J.s etc. She will have a friend party when they all go back to school if it stops snowing long enough. She can date now and get a job this summer, so that was all that was really important. Have fun Rita

As you can see, we still have snow. We shovel a few
hours a day at least. It has been know to be 4 to 5
hours a day. In fact, I have agreed that when Rita
graduates from high school, we should be the kind of birds that fly south for the winter. Banky had the idea first. You can still fish in California this time of year. It is beautiful. I do love it, but I am getting a little tired of spending as many hours as I do shoveling the snow. We hired a couple of boys the other day to shovel the roof. They had a great time. The shed that is in this picture no longer has snow, well much snow on it because Banky cleared it off yesterday. It snowed again last night, and is suppose to snow again tonight and tommorrow and Tuesday. They say it doesn't snow here that much, but the last 2 yrs. it sure has for us. I was trying to find a way to get some exercise when we got home from Thanksgiving. I'm not looking any more. Got all I need or want. You'd think I'd lose some weight.

This is our front yard in our snowstorm. It was beautiful, but the rain came last night and the trees are green again. I like them white this time of year. It also makes shoveling snow a lot harder. It is suppose to snow tonight, so it will be pretty again tomorrow.

Just getting stated

This will be the spot to find the parents to Nellie, Rebecca, and Luke Curtis who already have their own blogspot and inspired their mother to join in the fun. It's December 27,2008 and we have about 2 feet of snow in the front yard. I'll have to get Banky to show me how to put a picture up to show how pretty it is here. We are the parents of 6 children and 15 grandchildren. Our Rita is the only one left at home and is ready to join the rest in CA. Snow is not her thing. She is about (in two days) to be 16 and can at long last date. We are not the youngest parents on the block, and it has been about 10 years since we have had dating children. Hope all 3 of us survive this experience. So I guess for now this is enough.
